Integration

Apple Health & HealthKit with Vero

Vero connects to Apple Health through HealthKit so sleep, activity, and other metrics you authorize can inform educational answers — alongside your labs, medications, and nutrition. You stay in control of permissions.

This page is a product integration guide, not Apple’s documentation. For system Health settings, use iOS Settings → Health. Privacy details: Security.

What can sync

Exact categories depend on what exists in your Apple Health library and what you authorize. Device and OS versions vary.

CategoryExamples
Activity & fitnessSteps, workouts, energy, and related activity metrics you authorize
SleepSleep analysis and related rest metrics when available in Apple Health
Heart & vitalsHeart rate, HRV, and other vitals present in HealthKit (device-dependent)
Wearable sourcesApple Watch natively; Oura and other apps when those metrics sync into Apple Health
Not a replacement forApple’s own Health app UI, clinical EHR portals, or emergency medical ID

Permissions & privacy

How it fits the rest of Vero

Apple Health alone is a store of metrics. Vero’s job is continuity: wearable trends can sit next to medications, lab uploads, and nutrition when you ask a question. See the full features overview.

Connect Apple Health in Vero

Download Vero, authorize the HealthKit categories you want to share, and ask questions with wearable context alongside your labs and meds.

Frequently asked questions

Does Vero integrate with Apple Health?

Yes. Vero connects via Apple HealthKit so metrics you authorize — such as sleep, activity, and heart-related data — can inform context-aware educational answers alongside your labs, medications, and profile.

Does Vero work with Oura or Apple Watch?

Apple Watch data appears through Apple Health / HealthKit. Oura and similar devices work when their metrics sync into Apple Health and you grant Vero permission to read those categories. Vero does not require a separate Oura login for that path.

What permissions does Vero request?

Vero requests HealthKit read access for the categories it needs to provide context. You can grant, deny, or revoke categories in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices. Vero only uses what you allow.

Is my Apple Health data used to train AI models?

Identifiable health data is not used to train Vero models. After you consent, selected context may be sent to AI providers at inference time to generate a response. See heyvero.ai/security for encryption, subprocessors, and no-training details.

Is Vero the same as the Apple Health app?

No. Apple Health is Apple’s system health store and app. Vero is a third-party AI health assistant that can read authorized HealthKit data and combine it with labs, meds, and nutrition you add in Vero.
