Vero FAQ

Vero is an AI health assistant for iPhone, operated by Senddy, Inc. It helps you understand lab results in the context of Apple Health / HealthKit data (including metrics synced from devices like Apple Watch and Oura), medications, nutrition, and history — with cited sources when applicable. It is an educational organizer and explainer, not a clinic visit.

No. Vero is not a licensed clinician, not FDA-cleared as a medical device, and not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Use it to understand your data and prepare better questions for your clinician — not to decide medications, diagnoses, or emergency care on its own.

No. Senddy does not use identifiable user health data to train Vero models. Under our provider agreements and configured API services, OpenAI and Anthropic do not use submitted Vero data to train their general-purpose models. See our Security and Privacy pages for details.

You control what you upload and which HealthKit categories you authorize. After you grant in-app AI consent, selected context (messages, uploads, profile/lab summaries, authorized HealthKit context) may be sent through our servers to OpenAI and/or Anthropic to generate responses. Infrastructure providers (e.g. Supabase) store encrypted data under BAAs where required. We do not sell personal information, use health data for advertising, or share it with data brokers.

Where the feature allows, we remove or replace direct account identifiers such as name or email before sending context for AI processing. Some questions need personal health context (labs, meds, trends) to answer usefully and therefore cannot be fully de-identified. Free-text notes and rare conditions can still be identifying — treat uploads thoughtfully.

Vero uses HIPAA-eligible cloud infrastructure and maintains Business Associate Agreements for covered services where required. That does not mean every consumer interaction is automatically a HIPAA-covered encounter, or that Senddy is your covered entity for all uses. Yes. When you delete your account, account-associated health data (profile, chat history, and lab results) is permanently deleted within 30 days. You can also disconnect HealthKit in iOS Settings. Contact privacy@heyvero.ai for access, correction, export, or deletion requests.

Two layers: (1) source grounding — when explaining labs and health topics, the assistant is instructed to cite allowlisted authoritative sources such as MedlinePlus and NIH when applicable; (2) physician-informed quality review — board-certified physicians periodically review sampled, de-identified outputs and evaluation results. Physicians do not review or approve every user response. Website educational content is separately medically reviewed on our Medical Reviewers pages.

Yes — that is a known risk of any AI health tool. A slightly abnormal value may be meaningless without symptoms, medications, fasting status, medical history, and repeat testing. AI can also misread a lab image, unit, or reference range. Prefer the reference range on your own report and confirm important findings with a clinician.

No. Metrics synced through Apple Health are useful for personal trends (sleep, activity, heart rate, and similar). They are estimates and lifestyle signals — not clinical diagnoses or substitutes for medical testing.

No. Physicians periodically review sampled, de-identified outputs for recurring accuracy and safety issues. They do not sit on every chat. If something looks wrong or unsafe, stop relying on the answer and contact a clinician — and email privacy@heyvero.ai or legal@heyvero.ai so we can investigate.

ChatGPT is a strong general-purpose assistant for explaining medical concepts when you paste context into a single chat. Vero is built for continuity: it holds your labs, Apple Health data, medications, and nutrition and brings that context into questions over time. Neither diagnoses or treats. If you only need a one-off definition of a lab term, a general AI may be enough. Vero’s value is organizing your own longitudinal data — repeated labs, meds, wearables, and nutrition — so answers can reference your history instead of generic textbook ranges alone. Try the free tier before committing to Pro.

Yes to download — no credit card required. The free tier currently includes a limited number of AI conversations (10 per month) and lab uploads (1 per month). Pro unlocks higher usage and features such as health report PDFs. Exact offerings can change; check in-app subscription details on the App Store for current pricing.

Seek emergency care (call 911 in the U.S.) for chest pain, trouble breathing, severe allergic reaction, stroke symptoms, suicidal thoughts, or any other emergency. See a clinician promptly for new severe symptoms, rapidly worsening labs your doctor told you to watch, medication side effects, or anything Vero flags as urgent. Do not use Vero to delay care.
